In case you didn’t understand the references to HHGTTG, peace in the galaxy, the point of view gun, and so long and thanks for all the fish, these are references to Douglas Adams’ “The Hitch Hiker’s Guide to the Galaxy”.
Part of the story line includes the enigma, the answer is “42”. This was the result of a computer, Deep Thought, that worked on the answer to life, the universe, and everything for seven and a half million years. But when finally divulged, no one understood the answer because they didn't know the question. So the earth was created to work on the question. After 10 million years and shortly before revealing the question, it was destroyed.
There is a great quote in the HitchHiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. Speaking of the Sirus Cybernetics Corporation’s products: "it is very easy to be blinded to the essential uselessness of them by the sense of achievement you get from getting them to work at all. In other words – and this is the rock-solid principle on which the whole of the Corporation’s Galaxywide success is founded – their fundamental design flaws are completely hidden by their superficial design flaws."
Since the TIFF/EP standard was developed by the ISO through a working group known as TC42, I conclude that the answer to the OpenRAW dilemma is in the Hitch Hiker’s Guide. “Don’t Panic” :-).
